Drudge linked this story at the top of his site this afternoon. Heinz-Kerry would be considered a laughable lunatic if her and her husband hadn't come so close to winning the White House. Try to imagine her as First Lady...wow, my head hurts. Here are some highlights:
What made Teresa Heinz Kerry so refreshing to some voters, and threatening to others on the 2004 campaign trail...
When you see the word "threatening" or "threat" in the first sentence of an article, you know a liberal's on board. Instead of admiting that some people just don't like THK for whatever reason, Joel Connelly has to make us scared of her. And "refreshing" is another word for "embarrassing".
"You cannot have bishops in the pulpit -- long before or the Sunday before the election -- as they did in Catholic churches, saying it was a mortal sin to vote for John Kerry," she said.
Heinz Kerry gave no examples.
That's because there AREN'T any, Joel. Priests in the Catholic Church don't talk about politics from the pulpit, they talk about issues. Some issues which are political also contain a moral component.
"The church has a right and obligation to teach values," Heinz Kerry declared. "They don't have a right to restrict freedom of expression, which they did."
???? Because some bishops said publicly that they would refuse communion to Kerry? That's their right, THK, if they feel he is living in a state of mortal sin. Go look at your cathecism and get back to me.
Heinz Kerry is openly skeptical about results from November's election, particularly in sections of the country where optical scanners were used to record votes.
"Two brothers own 80 percent of the machines used in the United States," Heinz Kerry said. She identified both as "hard-right" Republicans. She argued that it is "very easy to hack into the mother machines."
Once again, no examples or proof. She should go work for Howard Dean.
"Think about last year," she said. "Once John had his nomination, the Republicans spent $90 million to destroy his reputation."
You mean those guys he served with in Vietnam who accurately called him a liar? They weren't on anyone's payroll. What she's probably talking about are the ads put together by the RNC. Go look at those and then look at the ones put out by Moveon.org (one even depicting G.W. Bush as a Nazi) and tell me who was trying to destroy reputations.
"We have to develop a discipline for this party, so the people of this country know more clearly what it is to be a Democrat," she said.
THK, we know what it is to be a Democrat today. That's why you lost.

Picture THK on the that bike in the Wizard of Oz, peddling away, and yelling at Laura Bush, I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too!
Coincidence? I think not. Maybe a house should have fallen on her.
