From the Washington Times:
Appearing on CBS' "Face the Nation" yesterday, the fiery former Vermont governor said, "It looks like today, and this could change, as of today it looks like women will be worse off in Iraq than they were when Saddam Hussein was president of Iraq."
I'd like to dedicate this quote to all of you who keep voting for Democrats because they're "fur the workin' man" or whatever the hell it is that keeps you happy. Dean is now your man...aren't you glad he represents your party?
Oh, and don't tell me that you don't belong to the party. If you vote for the man the party nominates, you belong to his party. Here's your sign.

Where, exactly, did I say that 'ol geedubs sets the price of oil? Did I say that? Really?
And what do you mean by "your guys" Sly? Who's guys? If you mean the Democrats, you'll need to remind me where I said that the Dems are my guys.
Let's just wonder for one second about where we would be with the price of oil on the barrel if we had chosen an alternate method to track and bring to justice those responsible for terrorism. Would we be installed in Iraq? Or the Middle East?
In the last 8 months, gasoline has jumped right at $1.20 per gallon, depending on where you live. Oil companies are making record profits that are not in line with the growth of the economy, or moreover, the rate of inflation. As of the last posting, BP (British Petroleum) has reported PROFITS of over $6.8 BILLION in THREE MONTHS! That's just one company with many others close behind; Shell, and others are making a mint while the middle class worforce lines their pockets.
I heard some bullshit about unemployment being at its lowest point since March, 2001. These are not facts; they are a cover up of a bigger problem. There is a serious lack of jobs in this country, and those figures are representative of people who NO LONGER QUALIFY for unemployment benefits because they are expired. Jobs for American workers do not exist like they did less than 10 years ago.
American companies are shipping your work to other countries. It is as simple as that. The current Administration is not helping American businesses keep jobs for us here, because the bottome line is that it is cheaper to send the materials and work to another country and ship it back to us. The cost of living has skyrocketed in just this second Presidential term. Health care is not available for people all over the country. Men like me have to work more than 40 hours a week, and then decide which of these things I need most. Food, shelter, or health insurance. I have to pray that nothing bad ever happens to anyone in my house, because if it does, I will be permanently endebted to a health care service provider for some gauze or an x-ray.
American workers are forced to spend an inordinate amount of their paychecks on things like getting to work. By the time that transportation costs are paid, including car insurance, gas, and that ever popular monthly payment, a disproportionate amount of the budget is consumed by getting us to and from jobs that don't pay enough to meet our needs, or provide us with benefits that will secure what future we have left.
Previous generations were able to make a good living on a man's income. Now, many families are struggling to make ends meet with two incomes. The degeneration of our society is happening in front of our very eyes and we have done nothing to stop it. The local, state, and federal Administrations of many generations have fleeced us of the very things that make America work. Our very livelihoods are being handed to workers in third world countries, and even though we are watching it happen, we perpetuate the situation by spending our money on companies who do this very thing. Technology companies are a brilliant example here.
The fact is, the blame isn't just on the Republicans or the Democrats. It also lies on the American people. It is high time Americans start looking out for ourselves and each other, and demand more from the governments that should be working for us, and not for their own benefits.
I'm Troy James biatch, and I approve this message.
/sorry, had to get that in.

I work for a major printing company and we seem to have an extremely hard time finding employees. We are constantly hiring, but we have been unable to find qualified applicants who can pass the required test and security/credit checks. This is hardly a government issue, but more an issue with the American people.
How can we expect great jobs to be available when the majority of our work force has little or no set job skills or the specific education needed to fill these positions. I have been very lucky to work for a great company that helped me return to school to get my BA and has promoted me through the ranks over the nine years I have been with them. But I have seen lots of people get the same opportunities within the company and they don't take advantage of them. So many people have the attitude that they will only work their eight hours a day and they don't care what else happens. They are not interested or engaged in the business, so why should the company be interested in them?
It seems that in other countries the people want, need and passionatly pursue jobs that americans don't seem interetsed in. Who can blame a company for seeking out this type of employee instead of one that is only in it until something better comes along.

Troy,
You did say Matt's man is getting us a hell of a deal on petrol.
Since by the wording of your satement you said your man meaning someone else's I went out on a limb and assumed he was not your man. If President Bush is your man as well, then stand on the mountain top and proclaim it. If not don't be scared and proclaim who your guy or guys are! Quit lurking in the shadows.
So what if a company is making record profits they have a product that is in demand. When computer sales went through the roof did anyone say that evil Intel was making record profits? If you are against capitalism move.
People can't get by on a man's income anymore because they want more than what society wanted in the 50's-70's. Bigger, nicer houses, electronics, nicer clothes, bigger, nicer, cars. If everyone still wanted a 1100 square foot house made of wood with no A/C, and cars without seatbelts and smog equipment, you could get by on a man's salary.
Is there a shortage of jobs? I doubt it with as many immigrants legal and illegal that are working here. I have never had a problem finding work. Either working for someone or some company or working for myself.
I am Sly and I sent this MF'n message!

Kelli,
Basically what you have just stated is that there is a need for education reform. By the time my kids get old enough for college, most predictions show that in-state tuitions will total more than $100,000 for that degree. Education systems in countries like Japan have promoted the country by providing them with educations that allow them to get jobs they want, not jobs they are settling for. Japan is at the forefront of the electronics industry, and it's all powered by the Japanese people! Look at the differences between a japanese company and an American one, and you will get a glimpse into how a successful company can be made from local workers.
Sly,
The first line, that's called sarcasm. Facetiousness even. You spin, I spin, we all spin to win win!
Can you honestly tell me that oil companies should be making record profits when our economy is in the shape that it's in? If that's the case, let's just all get as greedy as hell, and then whoever can screw who the most, the fastest, will have all the money. I fully understand and appreciate the benefits of capitalism, but there is no need to be taking home $7B in profits this quarter. Does that not make you sick? That's food and shelter for people who are forced to choose between a meal or a house. There are alot more people in that situation than you realize.

Troy,
Who is allowed to make profits and what profits are "FAIR PROFITS" Our economy is doing fine. How are the oil companies screwing us. Divulge the plan and its mechanism. You might win me over. The way I see it it is simple supply and demand. Oil is in demand the supply is low hence the high price. China is using alot more oil than it used to which is bringing the supply down. When people stop using less oil the supply will increase and prices will drop. If we could drill for more oil we could increase supply and you would see a price drop. If you told me that we are using half the oil we used 10 years ago and oil companies were making record profits by fixing prices, you could talk about greed. No one was saing in the 80's when big oil took a beating hey let's pay more because their losing money. Should we pay more to airlines because they are taking a beating right now? Or is Southwest greedy because they make a profit when just about every other airline is losing money? If you believe that than move to asocialist
state. I have a big ozone depleting, tree killing, road hogging SUV. It now costs me over sixty dollars to fill the beast. It has had exactly zero affect on my driving habits. The same affect it has had on most Americans. When the prices change that demand the oil companies profits will decrease and you will be happy. It is simply we use more oil now than ever the oil companies should be punished for that? I don't think so. Find something else to be angry about. And don't forget to list your guys that have even some of the answers to the current "problems" with this country.

Troy,
You brought up the Japanese worker. Check out the suicide rate there. America isn't the best in every industry but we are tops in many. As far as electronics it is hard to beat SONY. Remember we had to straighten out the Japanese about 60 years ago. America is still the best country on the planet.
