The following comment was posted to this blog recently:
The ART of WAR suggests that you know your enemy, yet declarations about the morale of the enemy being affected by statements made in the US CONGRESS and hyped by peaceniks or warmonger pundits in the media, reflects ZERO understanding of what makes combatants who have been been in continual conflict for thousands of years, HUNDREDS OF GENERATIONS illustrates exceptional IGNORANCE. They are NOT draftees who are reluctant grunts looking for an excuse to go AWOL, as is a common characteristic of CHICKENHAWKS, they are HOLY WARRIORS who are as IDEOLOGICALLY OBSTINATE as any BONEHEADED BIGOT that believes they belong to a MASTER RACE. Those who took an oath to uphold the US CONSTITUTION are obligated to abide by its tenets which demands participation in the democratic process by exercising free speech to counter misinformation propagated by war profiteers that have little if any regard for the lives lost in battle as long as war is perpetuated. Why those who imply that being critical of those who make poor strategic decisions are aiding the enemy are not OVER THERE carrying out the orders made by those decision makers whom they endorse, remains a nagging question that until a better answer than HYPOCRISY comes along is the truth.
The poster did not leave his name or real e-mail address (although the style of writing tells me all I need to know), so I deleted the comment. I repost it here as an example of the kind of stuff that gets posted here by anonymous idiots on a regular basis. Lately, however, the comments have begun to possess similar patterns in terms of grammar and usage. If you listen to talk radio, you are probably familiar with the term "seminar caller". Could this be something new---seminar posters?
Notice a few patterns. First, there is an attack on the writer (me) instead of a simple recitation of opinion. Second, there is a glaring lack of knowledge with regard to how our military works. This, by someone who calls others chickenhawks while he has probably never supported a cause larger than his own ass. Finally, he asserts that I consider all dissent to be aiding the enemy, something I have never said.
Nice try.

"Notice a few patterns."
I have noticed how these people always go on about the "master race" (often spelled in upper case).
In my experience there are only two groups who use that term: those who believe in a master race and those who believe everybody else does.
The left have a big problem.
They are trying to be both rebels and mainstream: rebels to be cool and mainstream to be safe.
The only way to do that is by opposing what a majority or vocal minority oppose and making themselves believe that by doing so they act against the system. They need targets that are weak but seem powerful (President Bush) or targets that are traditionally weak but have been working their way up (Jews, Israel).
Due to how they select their targets the left will often find themselves on the same side as the fascist right, your Stormfront, your white supremacists, your Nazis. The left does not share their ideals, but they share the enemies. The fascist right also selects enemies that are weak but can be made to look powerful. (In fact the fascist right usually defines these enemies and the left will then pick them up.)
Nobody wants to be associated with the fascist right. So what do you do?
One way appears to be to make up things that your targets have in common with the fascist right. If you can make it appear as if your targets have more in common with the fascist right than you, you would be fine, certainly.
Hence the "master race" enters the field. A belief the fascist right subscribes to and the left do not. So perhaps one can claim that everybody but the left believes that?
Some perceived and real common positions of neo-conservatives and fascists include:
1. A belief in a master race. (The left often refer to Israel or the Jews as a group who believe in themselves as a "master race"; in reality only the fascist right believe in a master race.)
2. Abortion. (In reality the fascist right does not oppose abortion as Germany's policies of the 1930s have shown. In fact the fascist right is very much in favour of aborting unworthy life.)
3. Capitalism. (In reality the fascist right does not support capitalism but wants immigration controls and other provisos.)
4. USA. (Since there are both neo-conservatives and neo-Nazis in the US.)
5. The English language. (Since neo-Nazis oppose non-white languages while neo-conservatives support specifically British traditions.)
6. (Christian) religion.
7. Whites. (Neo-Nazis believe whites are superior, neo-conservatives don't care. The left believe the white race's power should be limited by law. If you cannot see the difference between the first two, you will think they have the same positions.)
8. Conservative politicians. (The left have never noticed that whie supremacists hate George Bush.)
See what I mean?
The person who made that post doesn't realize ithat it isn't the individual combatants that you are speaking of. It gives aid to the the wingnuts in power who motivate the combatants.
